WNBA Fans Praise League For Moving Atlanta Dream’s Home Games

Following some uncertainty about where the Atlanta Dream would be hosting their WNBA Finals games, the league has reportedly stepped in and provided them a bigger venue.

Since 2021, the Dream have called the Gateway Arena in College Park home. But with a max capacity of roughly 3,500 fans, there was growing concern that the team wouldn’t be able to secure a larger facility for this week’s big stage.

However thanks to the efforts of the WNBA, the NBA and their broadcast partners, the Dream will now be hosting Games 3, 4, and 6 (if necessary) at the Hawks’ State Farm Arena in Downtown Atlanta like they did for all three of their previous home playoff games.

With the capacity at State Farm being 17,044, it’s a much more fitting environment for Atlanta to play for its first championship.

And fans around the W were happy to see the situation able to be worked out before the series tips-off:

“Now let’s win this 2026 WNBA championship ATL Dream. Do It For The Dream,” a user said.

“#BallUpTop #DreamIn6,” another commented.

“W! Even though the Internet was quick to jump down the Dream’s throat, I think it was awesome that they were able to come to a positive conclusion. One that I think the entire Basketball community is happy with,” a fan exclaimed.

“Let’s go yall . First let’s beat them in their own house . Then finish it at home,” another person replied.

“Really glad this all worked out,” another fan shared. “WNBA and NBA double-header is actually pretty sick.”

The Dream are set to call State Farm home full-time starting next season. So this could be an incredible welcome for the franchise heading into 2027 if they’re able to secure a WNBA title.
