Terry Bradshaw’s $5 Million Contract Questioned As NFL Fans Call For Fox Sports To Take Action Against Him Before Week 2 Games

The legendary NFL quarterback, who won four Super Bowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers, has been on the air for decades. He’s been with FOX since 1994 and has been a huge part of the network’s NFL success. However, as he approaches his 80s, is he still worth his estimated $5 million contract?

Some NFL fans are suggesting that he might not be.

Bradshaw made his first appearance of the 2026 NFL regular season last weekend, as the Week 1 games got underway. Fans questioned Bradshaw’s knowledge of the game at this stage, with some suggesting that FOX needed to take him off of the air.

NFL fans flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to question Bradshaw’s knowledge of the game and whether or not he should be on the air at this point.

“How is Terry Bradshaw still on tv,” one fan added.

“It’s time for Terry to go,” one fan added.

“Why is Terry Bradshaw on my screen in this year of our lords 2026,” one fan added.

Bradshaw, 78, had made headlines for saying he’d rather have Joe Burrow than Patrick Mahomes in 2026.

“Terry Bradshaw would take a guy who’s missed the postseason 3 consecutive seasons over Patrick Mahomes. Think about that,” one fan wrote.

But as FOX is facing questions about Bradshaw, the legendary NFL quarterback is committed to playing it out.

Bradshaw has no intentions of stepping away

Bradshaw said at the Super Bowl in 2025 that he wants to work until he’s at least 80 years old.

“I told my wife before I left the room a while ago, I’m sitting there, I said, ‘I’ve got two years left at FOX. I’m 76,’” he said.

“Okay, so it’s a young man’s game. I get that. Everybody wants the new. “And so I said, ‘If we can get to the next Super Bowl, I’ll be 80. That’s, I think that’s time’. 80 years old, that’s pushing it.”

And, even when Bradshaw steps away from Fox Sports, he still plans on working hard – somewhere.

“I may not be with Fox (Sports). That would be their call, not mine,” Bradshaw said of his future years. “But I would still be speaking, and if not doing that, I’ll still work the bourbon trail. Billy Graham said that the day that you retire is the day you start dying. I do believe a lot of people when they stop using their brain, their thought processes moving and advancing. I believe you age, and people end up dying. How many people die within a year after retirement? So, I don’t want to do that. I see myself staying fully active right up to the end.”
