Ormond Beach motorcyclist, 22, killed on I-4 near S.R. 44
An Ormond Beach motorcyclist was killed when he ran into the back of a semi on Interstate 4 just east of State Road 44 early Sept. 6, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Earlier accident on I-4 east of S.R. 44 had traffic backed up
The accident took place at 3:46 a.m. Traffic on I-4 had been stopped due to an earlier accident, according to FHP. The motorcyclist, riding a 2024 Honda CBR500R, came upon the stopped traffic and ran into the back of the semi, FHP stated.
The 22-year-old Ormond Beach man, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi was was uninjured and remained on the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
