Woman sold counterfeit designer items from home and had more in storage: MDSO

A Miami-Dade woman was caught with fake Louis Vuitton bags and hundreds of other luxury knockoffs, which she was selling from her home through her business, Elegance and Glamour, according to the sheriff’s office.

In February, detectives received a tip that counterfeit goods were being stored and sold from a home on the 3100 block of Northwest 81st Terrace, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said in an arrest affidavit.

The home address was linked to an Instagram page, Elegance and Glamour, and both were allegedly linked to 36-year-old Liudmila Perez-Labrada, the sheriff’s office said.

A private investigator, “who is the local representative for most of the counterfeited brands,” inquired and bought a fake Louis Vuitton purse from Elegance and Glamour for $211, the sheriff’s office said. He took photos of the handbag and sent them to Louis Vuitton’s senior manager of criminal enforcement, who determined the bag was a counterfeit. The investigator repeated this process for other designer brands.

Detectives executed a search warrant at Perez-Labrada’s home and found a “retail-store-style setup,” the sheriff’s office said. She then gave authorities permission to search her storage unit, which is at 795 NW 84th St. and held more counterfeit goods.

She was in possession of hundreds of counterfeit luxury items, including Cartier, Burberry, Fendi and Prada, the sheriff’s office said. Private brand investigators determined the total retail value of the seized merchandise, had it been authentic, would have been around $1.74 million.

Perez-Labrada was arrested Tuesday and charged with counterfeiting goods involving 1,000 or more items or a total retail value of $20,000 or more, records show. She was being held on a $7,500 bond Wednesday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. She didn’t have an attorney listed yet.
