Waiver Wire WRs to Claim After DJ Moore Injury
Injuries are an expected part of life on the football field, so even if you feel like you’ve built the greatest fantasy football roster of all time, your league championship dreams can come crashing down quickly if a key player gets injured.

The injury bug hit the Buffalo Bills in a big way during their Week 2 Thursday night win over the Detroit Lions when star wideout DJ Moore went down in the end zone with what looked like a collar bone injury that left him in a lot of pain.
After the game, it was reported that Moore had suffered an AC joint sprain. NFL Insider Ian Rappaport described it as ¨not a serious injury.¨ However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that his status for next week’s game is up in the air.
Working in his and fantasy owners’ favor is the fact that the Bills played on Thursday, so Moore has an extra two days of recovery before they face the Chargers on Sunday, Sept. 27.

DJ Moore had an average draft position of 48 this year, according to Fantasy Pros, so he was likely a top-4 or -5 pick in your draft. His 5 receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 rewarded fantasy owners who picked him up that early.
Replacing that type of production won’t be easy, but here are some candidates to help tide you over until the Bills’ top receiver makes his return.
Khalil Shakir – Moore replacement is already on Bills’ roster
Khalil Shakir could be the biggest beneficiary from DJ Moore’s absence on the Bills’ roster, and is therefore a strong candidate to fill in for him on your fantasy roster should Moore miss time.

Shakir had three receptions against the Lions for 38 yards, one week after having 4 receptions for 50 yards against the Texans. Both weeks, Shakir had 6 targets, which is not too far from the 8 targets Moore commanded against the Texans.
Of course, all targets aren’t created equal, but it is clear that Shakir is an important part of the Bills’ offense. Heading into Week 2, he was only rostered in 60% of fantasy leagues according to FP, so there’s a good chance he’s available for a waiver claim.

Dontayvion Wicks – Eagles WR2 has a ton of upside
Dontayvion Wicks opened plenty of fantasy eyes with his Week 1 performance against the Washington Commanders.
While he only had two receptions, one of those receptions went for 64 yards, and the other went for a touchdown.
There are obvious usage concerns since he only had four targets in that game, but Wicks is in his first year with the Eagles. He and Jalen Hurts still need some time to get on the same page. But his career 12.7 average yards per reception shows that he is a serious downfield threat.

Wicks was rostered in only 22% of fantasy leagues heading into Week 2, so go grab him before someone else does, because he is only going to get more involved in Philly’s still-baking offense.
Antonio Williams – Commanders’ rookie showed reliability in the clutch
The Washington Commanders were knocking on the end zone’s door with 1:05 left in the fourth quarter in Week 2. With the team down 8, they could not settle for a field goal. It was touchdown or bust.

The Eagles sent the blitz, rookie wideout Antonio Williams hit the flat at full speed, and though Jayden Daniels’ throw was a bit low due to the pressure, he was able to scoop the pass before it hit the turf and roll into the end zone to give the Commanders a shot at tying the game.
The catch topped off a pretty impressive debut for Williams, who finished the game with 4 receptions on 4 targets for 64 yards and one TD. Williams consistently found space in the Eagles’ vaunted secondary, doing particularly well against Pro Bowl corner Cooper DeJean.
The performance helped earn him Rookie of the Week honors, but he is still flying under the radar. Heading into Week 2, Williams was rostered in less than 13% of leagues. He is solidly WR3 on a Commanders team that will be throwing a lot this season.
