Video of Holly Rowe’s Pregame Outfit Saturday Night With 1.8 Million Views Is Fake

Holly Rowe has had a tough week.

The veteran ESPN sideline reporter has been trending ever since last Saturday night, when she was on the call of the Texas vs. Ohio State game in Austin Texas. Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian abruptly ended his postgame interview with the ESPN sideline reporter, following an epic comeback win against the Buckeyes.

Then, a few days later, Texas quarterback Arch Manning went viral, for joking about an AI-created video of Sarkisian slapping the ESPN sideline reporter. Manning ultimately apologized for his comment.

“In my press conference yesterday, I made an insensitive comment about an AI video. There is nothing funny about it,” he wrote. “It’s easy to say I didn’t mean it, but I know my words and actions were hurtful to a lot of people. I do not take that lightly and am deeply sorry for that.”

“I specifically want to apologize to Holly Rowe for what she has personally had to deal with because of my comments,” he continued. “I have a ton of respect for her and appreciate her showing me grace in this moment. I need to do better and will be more thoughtful going forward.”

Rowe accepted the apology.

“Thank you Arch. I appreciate our conversation about this — which will remain private,” Rowe wrote on her own Instagram Story. “Apology accepted. We move forward with respect and kindness for one another.”

But unfortunately, Rowe isn’t done going viral on social media, to no fault of her own.

A fake, AI-created video of Rowe wearing a white tank top and jeans to a pregame meeting has close to 2 million views.

But the video is not real.

Rowe, and many other women in sports media, consistently have to deal with this kind of thing. It’s unfortunate and those who spread fake videos and fake stories should be held accountable.
