Two Packers Carted Off With Injuries On Consecutive Plays Against Jets

Week 2 of the NFL season couldn’t have started worse for the Green Bay Packers, who saw multiple players suffer seemingly significant injuries on consecutive plays.

On the second play of the game, wideout Jayden Reed collided with a Jets defender after catching a four-yard pass, going down awkwardly. He was taken off the field on a spine board, out with what appears to be a head or neck injury.

A play later, right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele went down with a leg injury. He immediately pounded his hand on the turf in frustration and pain before he was carted off the field with an air cast on his right leg.

The Packers officially announced that both Reed and Bako-Bewele have been ruled out for the rest of the game.

Following a fourth-quarter collapse in Week 1, the second week of the regular season isn’t exactly starting off on the right foot for the Packers. Obviously, teammates of Reed and Bako-Bewele had an emotional reaction to their injuries, but they must now find a way to focus on the three quarters of football that remain.
