Traffic alert: Lanes on 71st Street in Miami Beach to close until next year

One eastbound lane will close from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays each night, and again from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights.
One westbound lane will close 9:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays each night, and from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights.
One lane will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. every day in both directions.
Two lanes will close in the eastbound direction only from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. from Sunday through Thursday each night, and from midnight to 8 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

One lane may close on the side streets surrounding the construction zone from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. every day.

Miami-Dade County
- Downtown Miami: Port Boulevard will be under construction from Biscayne Boulevard to PortMiami in downtown Miami. One or two lanes of Port Boulevard will close 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays. On Biscayne Boulevard, one or two lanes may close 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 11 p.m. to 9 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The Florida Department of Transportation website notes that at least one lane in each direction will remain open at all times.
- North Miami: Northeast 135th Street will be under construction from Northwest Second Avenue to Northeast 17th Avenue/Tressler Street in North Miami until spring 2028. At least one eastbound lane will close 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. when school zone decreased speed limits are not active. When the decreased speed zones are active, a lane will close 10:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. At least one westbound lane will close from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. when school zone decreased speed limits are not active. When the decreased speed zones are active, a lane will close 5 a.m. to 6:45 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
- Opa-locka: As part of a pedestrian safety project adding new crosswalks, signs, signals and lights, Northwest 27th Avenue will be under construction between Sesame Street to Dunad Avenue in Opa-locka until this fall. One lane will close every day from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Two lanes will close every day from 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
- Miami: On Biscayne Boulevard from Northeast 61st and 64th streets in Miami, up to one southbound or northbound lane will close as needed from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and at night between 11:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. Also, one southbound or northbound lane along Biscayne Boulevard will close from Northeast 64th Street to Northeast Sixth Avenue from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and at night between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Broward County
- Hollywood: North 22nd Avenue and Southwest 12th Avenue in Hollywood will be under construction from Sheridan Street to Stirling Road until spring 2027. One lane will close as needed between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays.
- Coconut Creek: Atlantic Boulevard is still under construction at Lyons Road in Coconut Creek. Lanes will continue to be closed Sundays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and at night as needed from 6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday and Saturday, a lane on Atlantic Boulevard will close from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. On Lyons Road, a lane will close Sundays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Miramar: University Drive will be under construction from Pembroke Road to north of Johnson Street in Miramar until early 2030. Up to two lanes on University Drive in each direction will close from 7:30 p.m. Sunday until 5:30 a.m. Friday. One lane in each direction will close as needed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- Lauderhill: Broward Boulevard between Northwest 33rd Avenue and Southwest 29th Avenue in Lauderhill will be under construction until spring 2027. Lanes may close as needed from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and at night from 7:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. from Sundays through Thursdays.
