One person dead in Miami-Dade County apartment fire, sheriff’s office said
One person was found dead inside a Miami-Dade County apartment building after firefighters knocked down flames at the burning building Monday morning, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue firefighters arrived at the three-story building near Northwest 14th Avenue and 103rd Street around 6:30 a.m., the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies noticed an apartment on the top floor engulfed in flames and evacuated the building’s residents, said Detective Joseph Peguero Rivera, a sheriff’s office spokesman.

After the fire was extinguished, firefighters found the person’s body inside the apartment, Peguero Rivera said. The sheriff’s office has not identified the person.
Sheriff’s office homicide detectives and arson investigators are investigating the fire, Peguero Rivera said.
