On Tuesday night, officers responded to an apartment complex at 11400 SW 26th St. after receiving a report of animal cruelty involving 19-year-old Javondre Antonio Jackson, the Miramar Police Department said in an arrest affidavit.

Officers found multiple videos that showed Jackson grabbing his Goldendoodle by the neck and strangling it before throwing it against a wall, police said. He had sent the video footage to another person, who was not identified by authorities, to antagonize them. He also allegedly texted the person that “he will kill people and then himself.”

“Based upon the video evidence, officers had probable cause to confirm the defendant intentionally committed an act on the animal that resulted in the excessive and unnecessary infliction of pain and suffering,” the affidavit said.

After Jackson was arrested, he used his feet to damage the partition cage in the back of a patrol car, police said. He was charged with aggravated animal cruelty and criminal mischief.

He was being held Thursday on a $15,500 bond at the Broward Main Jail, records show. Jackson doesn’t have an attorney listed yet.
