That’s because the Prince of Pop, 45, wasn’t on the bill for the Don Toliver concert. He just casually popped up out of nowhere for a high-energy duet of “Body,” which samples the former boybander’s 2003 hit “Rock Your Body.”
The next day, JT showed a snippet of his viral cameo that had everyone and their mother throwing up their phones in glee. In the Instagram clip, he films himself jamming along with the crowd at the downtown Miami arena with the text over screen: “I just wanted to watch the show from the VIP.”
After the “Sponge Bob Square Pants” time card flashes (“A few moments later”), our guy is rocking out up there with Toliver.
Commenters on the post were loving it.
A sampling:
“Appears out of thin air…. Legendary move.”
“My heart can’t take the excitement!”
“Just incredible.”
How this cool collab between these two artists came to be: Toliver told Billboard in March he used to listen to Timberlake when he was kid riding in the car with his mom.
“Honestly, I love Justin Timberlake a lot,” the 32-year-old told the outlet. “I got a lot of fond memories of that.”

As for creating the sample, the Houston native said “Rock Your Body” is “one of those songs that triggers an endorphin … To put those two together was so iconic for me.”
Timberlake’s rare appearance was significant in more ways than one. The father of two has been on a bit of a hiatus for personal reasons after a series of significant challenges. The Memphis native announced he was diagnosed with Lyme disease in July last year, one day after wrapping his two-year-long “Forget Tomorrow” World Tour.
“I was faced with a personal decision,” Timberlake revealed in a social media post regarding the illness caused from being bitten by an infected tick. “Stop touring? Or keep going and figure it out. I decided the joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling. I’m so glad I kept going. Not only did I prove my mental tenacity to myself but, I now have so many special moments with all of you that I will never forget.”
Speaking of never forgetting …. Locals may recall that same tour made a stop at the Kaseya Center on June 15. Two nights later, “The Social Network” star was arrested in the Hamptons, under suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The chart-topper was sentenced to 25 to 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to a reduced charge of driving while ability impaired.
Timberlake’s lawyers fought to have the release of his mug shot and bodycam footage blocked, but were unsuccessful.
