Reason? Publicity, of course. The intimidating, human-like balloon towered over the screening of Statham’s latest movie, “Mutiny,” in theaters Friday.

In the Lionsgate thriller, the Brit plays former Marine Cole Reed, who goes on a solo killing spree aboard a cargo ship after he’s framed for his billionaire boss’ murder. The twist: Our revenge-seeking hero soon uncovers a much more serious issue — an international human-trafficking conspiracy.

The 30-foot-high blow-up figure, which features Statham looking menacing and wielding a weapon, has been traveling. The attention-grabber recently floated on London’s River Thames, as well as on the Hudson in New York City. The enormous custom floatie, made by Miami-based company IDG, is reportedly en route to Los Angeles for more promotional duties.

“Putting him larger than life on a shipping container was a great way to visualize that one-man-against-the-sea premise before anyone had seen the film,” said IDG on its website.

As for Tuesday’s local event, it’s currently at capacity. To get on the waiting list, go to https://lionsgatescreenings.com
