Day after signing with Miami Heat, Klay Thompson shows up at a local hot spot

The basketball star, 36, is officially a 305-er as of Sunday. The legendary shooting guard signed a two-year contract worth $11.5 million to join the Miami Heat, according to a league source.

Thompson reportedly agreed to a buyout on his contract with the Dallas Mavericks that would have netted him $17.5 million this upcoming season.

So how does one celebrate such a big deal? By going out to dinner at one of the hottest spots in town, of course.

A day after officially joining the roster, the NBA player was spotted at Komodo in Brickell, insiders told the Miami Herald. The L.A. native’s dining companions? Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra, along with a few other front-office folks.

Burning question: What was his order?

We reached out to reps and didn’t immediately hear back. But the sceney clubstaurant, owned by hospitality giant David Grutman, is known for upscale Asian eats. Think Wagyu steak tacos, Thai grilled shrimp and Korean fried chicken. (Tip: Non-athletes on a budget can indulge in the Miami Spice three-course menu there for $65 until Sept. 30).

It’ll be interesting for basketball fans to see where the five-time All-Star pops up next off the court. We have a feeling not the Popeye’s in South Beach.

Thompson’s ex-girlfriend, Megan Thee Stallion, opened the franchise on Washington Avenue in January. The split with the rapper was said to be not very amicable.

“I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay,” the “Savage” singer, 31, wrote in a statement to USA Today. “Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me … and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”

Onto other matters, like where Thompson will lay his head at night. Our bets are on a place not too far from Heat HQ, the Kaseya Center downtown. We are pretty sure real estate agents have his number by now, and he’ll have more than adequate shelter.
