Ahead of Wednesday’s practice in preparation for the team’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley said the third-year pro is exactly where they expected him to be.

“He has made progress,” Hafley said on Monday. “So he’s in the protocol. He’s exactly where we thought he’d be right now, so we’ll see how he does come Wednesday.”

The Dolphins have lacked any kind of pass rush during their first two games of 2026

Robinson suffered the concussion during practice last Wednesday and was listed as limited. He missed practice on Thursday and Friday. This was the third known concussion Robinson has suffered since being selected by the Dolphins in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Miami could have used Robinson during its 35-13 loss to San Francisco. The team failed to sack Brock Purdy once. Through two games, the Dolphins are the only team in the NFL that hasn’t recorded a sack.

“In drop-back pass mode, can we get them with four?” Hafley said after the game against the 49ers. “Do we have to go at them? And then, how are we going to cover those guys?

“I got to have a better answer for you, because it hasn’t worked in the first two games. I’ve coached a lot of defense and done a lot of different things. I’m going to have to continue to try to generate more pressure and find different ways to do it for sure, because we’re not getting there right now.”

This season is a make-or-break moment for Robinson, who has had an uneven career so far. After finishing with six sacks during his rookie season in 2024, Robinson’s production declined across nearly every statistical category, as he finished with just four sacks in 2025. He also dealt with injuries after suffering two separate concussions.

Robinson also struggled in run defense, which is why he added roughly seven pounds of muscle this offseason, increasing his playing weight from 258 pounds to 265 pounds. In the season-opening loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, he had just one assisted tackle and failed to record a pressure.
