Bands on the Beach

7 p.m. Sept. 8. Gulfside Pavilion at Casino Beach, Pensacola Beach. Bands on the Beach is Pensacola Beach’s popular outdoor summer concert series with performers for every musical taste. Featuring a lineup of regional artists, the series delivers an eclectic musical experience throughout the entire summer. This week features Pistol Pearl and The Wester Band. Harvest Sip & Shop

5 p.m. Sept. 9. Rusted Arrow Mercantile, 130 Palafox Place. Kick off the fall season at the fifth annual Harvest Sip & Shop, one of downtown Pensacola’s favorite fall shopping events. Join organizers for an evening of shopping, sipping, and celebrating all things fall in the heart of historic downtown. THURSDAY

Backpack Project USA Family Fishing Rodeo

Sept. 10 through 12. Grand Lagoon Yacht Club, 10653 Gulf Beach Highway. The 13th annual Backpack Project USA Family Fishing Rodeo aims to help provide food to children at risk for hunger in Escambia County schools. The open division is for anglers age 13 and older with an entry fee of $25. The junior division is for anglers aged 12 and younger with no entry fee. Within each division there will be a saltwater and freshwater category. Fish weigh-ins at Grand Lagoon will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 12. All anglers must be in line by 5 p.m. when the scales close. Backpack Project USA will host a fish fry at 5 p.m. followed by an awards ceremony to announce the winners starting at 6:30 p.m. More info: facebook.com/backpackprojectusa.

Bulls On The Beach

5 p.m., Flora-Bama doors; 6 p.m., gates; 8 p.m., rodeo; Sept. 10 through 12. Flora-Bama Lounge & Package, 17401 Perdido Key Drive. Bring the family out to experience the ultimate adrenaline rush with three nights of live rodeo action featuring Professional Bull Riders from all around the country. Thursday night will feature kids 12 and younger participating in a coloring contest bike giveaway for both a girl and a boy, followed by professional bull riding. Friday and Saturday night will feature the professionals in the adult bull riding competition. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. $45 for ages 18 and older; $20 for ages 7 to 17; free for ages 6 and younger. Pensacola Senior Games

Sept. 11 through 25. Various locations in Pensacola. The Pensacola Senior Games is an annual series of sporting events offering athletes age 50 and better the opportunity to participate in friendly competitions and a chance to advance to State and National Senior Games. With 22 sporting events to choose from, including tennis, bowling, darts, track and field, swimming and more, these games are the perfect opportunity to stay active, challenge yourself, and connect with others in the community. Service and Sacrifice: Remembering September 11, 2001

9:30 a.m. Sept. 11. National Naval Aviation Museum, 1750 Radford Blvd., NAS Pensacola. Twenty-five years after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, the National Naval Aviation Museum will host the Gulf Coast’s largest public remembrance ceremony to honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the heroes who answered the call and the enduring spirit of a nation forever changed. The ceremony will bring together military leaders, veterans, first responders and members of the public to reflect on the lasting impact of the attacks and pay tribute to those who answered the nation’s call to serve. Celebrate Rosh Hashanah

5 p.m. Sept. 11. Jackson’s Steakhouse, 400 S. Palafox St. Celebrate Rosh Hashanah and begin your New Year at Jackson’s. Firefighters’ Association September 11 Commemoration

6:45 p.m. Sept. 11. Jernigan’s Landing, 5154 Willing St., Milton. The Santa Rosa County Firefighters’ Association will commemorate the tragic events of September 11, 2001, at the city of Milton’s Bands on the Blackwater event. This special commemoration will begin on the stage immediately prior to the weekly concert event. Local fire departments and law enforcement agencies will participate in the observance to honor those who lost their lives or were impacted by the events of 25 years ago. National Day of Service and Remembrance

10 a.m. Sept. 12. Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road. Join communities across the country as they honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and pay tribute to the first responders and service members who answered the call in the days that followed. In partnership with the National Cemetery Administration, the National Day of Service and Remembrance brings volunteers together at more than 140 participating national, grant-funded, and local cemeteries across the country. Volunteers will help clean headstones and beautify these sacred grounds in tribute to our military members, veterans, first responders, and their families. Registration is free but required. Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner Show

6 p.m. Sept. 12. Hilton Garden Inn Pensacola Downtown, 8 S. Ninth Ave. America’s largest interactive comedy murder mystery dinner theatre show is now playing. Solve a mystery while feasting on dinner. Just beware, the culprit is hiding in plain sight somewhere in the room, and you may find yourself as a prime suspect before you know it. This event differs from a traditional murder mystery dinner show. The actors are not dressed in costume and are hidden in the audience.
