A Miami company recalled 29,000 pounds of Argentine beef from Texas and Florida

A North Miami-Dade company that’s a block from Aventura and Hallandale Beach recalled 29,628 pounds of beef products that came from much farther away.

The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service says Corte Argentino, 21402 W. Dixie Hwy., imported beef from Argentina “without benefit of import reinspection.”

From its warehouse at 21402 W. Dixie Hwy., Corte Argentino fills orders for walk-ins and online customers seeking Argentine beef. The company website boasts “we work directly and exclusively with Frigorifico Gorina, a top meat supplier from Argentina.”

As for the recall: “The products were being held at a third-party facility in the United States, which was responsible for coordinating and presenting the shipment for the required FSIS reinspection,” Corte Argentino’s statement read. “However, the reinspection was not completed before the products proceeded into commercial distribution.

“It is important to emphasize that the recall was not initiated due to the detection of contamination, bacteria, or quality issues in the beef. Prior to export, the product had been inspected and approved by the competent sanitary authority in Argentina.”

The recall notice said the products went to retailers and distributors in Florida and Texas. They have use-by or freeze-by dates from Sept. 15-20. They’ll also have Argentinian establishment number “EST. N° OF. 2025” and shipping mark “26644-AA.”

• Cardboard boxes containing “FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC” boneless beef “Knuckle” (“Bola de Lomo”)
