Man dies after shooting in Northwest Miami-Dade, Sheriff’s Office says

Deputies are investigating after a man was killed in a Saturday night shooting in Northwest Miami-Dade, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies responded around 8:48 p.m. to a ShotSpotter alert in the area of Northwest 17th Street and Northwest 69th Terrace, Detective Joseph R. Peguero Rivera said.

Deputies found a man, who was not identified, suffering from gunshot wounds, Rivera said. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took the critically injured man to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Despite all lifesaving efforts, he died at the hospital, Rivera said.

No arrests have been made as of Sunday afternoon, and there was no information about the shooter, according to Rivera. Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives have taken over the investigation.
