Saturday night, during the middle of another great college football weekend, the U.S. Department of Education publicly called for change.
“MAKE COLLEGE FOOTBALL GREAT AGAIN,” the post read.
The post adds: “Make education great again.”
College football fans, though, aren’t really sure what to make of this. What does the U.S. Department of Education mean by it?

College football is already pretty great. What needs to change or be made “great again” by President Trump’s administration?
“For those monitoring the situation this seems to be the official US department of education account doing a dogwhistle about getting rid of some Indian kids attending a UT football game,” one fan wrote.

“After a week in which a Texas Republican candidate’s tweet about University of Texas students being denounced as racist has made national news, what is one supposed to take away from this tweet from the U.S. Dept of Education?” another shared.
“This follows the Bo French tweet, which framed South Asian American Longhorn students as a problem. Ask yourself what the framing of this tweet from the federal government could be trying to convey,” one fan added.
“I don’t need a bunch of (expletives) telling me college football isnt great. did you see that game last night? it never left,” one fan added.
One thing is clear: College football, and all of the fans who love it, are already great. We don’t need the U.S. Government getting involved to try to make things different.
