Former College Football Star Stedman Bailey Facing Wild Allegations

Former West Virginia and St. Louis Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey has been charged with a misdemeanor in Florida on some rather embarrassing allegations.

According to TMZ Sports, Bailey is being charged with exposure of sexual organs after reportedly being caught having sex at a mall arcade. The alleged incident took place on July 27 at the Pembroke Lakes Mall.

Prosecutors allege that Bailey “pulled down his clothing to engage and/or was actively engaging in contact of a sexual nature” at a bowling alley-arcade bar. Police say that Bailey even admitted to having his pants down, but maintains that he did not engage in sex.

If convicted he faces up to a year in county jail and a fine.

Tough times for the WVU Legend

Between 2010 and 2012, Bailey was a main player on one of the most prolific offenses in the country. With Geno Smith as his starting QB and Tavon Austin as his partner at wideout, West Virginia’s offense enjoyed three straight winning seasons, won the Big East title in 2011 and had an historic Orange Bowl win over Clemson where they scored 70 points.

Bailey would finish his college career as the Mountaineers’ all-time leader in receiving touchdowns and remains so to this day. He also remains the team’s single-season record holder for receptions, yards and touchdowns.

In a 2012 game against Baylor he set multiple West Virginia records with 303 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

Bailey wound up being a third-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Rams, who paired him with Austin again. Unfortunately, Bailey’s time in St. Louis would be cut short after being shot in November 2015. He managed to survive but never played football again afterwards.
