Michael Dorrell Parker, 52, arranged to meet the woman at the Ibis Bay Beach Resort on Roosevelt Boulevard Saturday night after paying her to take the ferry from Fort Myers to meet him there, police said.

Police say Parker paid the woman more than $1,300 for “sexual and fetish-related activities,” but she became frightened when Parker began requesting “weird stuff, illegal stuff,” detectives wrote in their report.

The woman tried to leave the room, but Parker grabbed her by the neck and threw her on the bed, according to the report.

He then choked her to the point that “caused her to believe she was going to die,” the report states. She was eventually able to kick him in the chest with her left leg, according to the report.

After Parker released his grip from her neck, he told her he was “very sorry and that he had never done anything like that to anyone before,” the woman told detectives, according to the report.

The detective stated in the report that the woman had fresh bruising around her neck and on her knees. The report also states that Parker had a bruise on his chest where the woman said she kicked him.

When the detective interviewed Parker, he admitted he paid the woman to travel from Fort Myers to meet him for sexual activity, but he denied strangling her or harming her in any way. Police arrested him early Sunday morning.

As of Monday, Parker was in Monroe County’s main jail on Stock Island waiting for a judge to set bond on charges of battery, aggravated battery, kidnapping and soliciting prostitution.
