Diddy was just spotted in prison amid major news back home in Miami
Even everyday real-estate transactions carry drama when Sean “Diddy” Combs is involved.

The incarcerated rapper, who was recently spotted walking the grounds at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, has sold one of two mansions he owns in the Miami Beach guard-gated enclave of Star Island for $55 million, according to widespread media reports. But the mega-deal hit a few snags, TMZ first reported
As per property records, the house at 1 Star Island Drive was bought by businessman John A. Franklin’s real estate holding company JFStar LLC based in Virginia. Before the transaction went through, there were closing issues; in May, Franklin et al sued Combs in Miami-Dade County Circuit Court. The suit accuses the fallen celebrity’s people of failing to provide documents clearing two mortgages, which prevented a clean-title transfer.
“Prior to the Closing Date, Purchaser identified numerous title and closing issues that Seller had failed to exercise due diligence to cure prior to or at the time of closing,” the suit partially reads.
A spokesperson for Combs told TMZ that 1 West Star Island LLC, the Grammy winner’s company that owns the property, was “ready and on standby” to close on the agreed date. Both parties ultimately completed the (reportedly off market) sale shortly after the lawsuit was voluntarily dismissed July 2.
Locals may recall the roughly 8,000-square-foot, six-bedroom home, which Combs bought from Gloria and Emilio Estefan in 2021 for $35 million, has some skeletons. The two-story property neighbors Combs’ bachelor pad at 2 Star Island Drive, the very same one that was raided by feds as part of a sex-trafficking investigation in March 2024. The hip-hop mogul bought that original, bigger mansion — around 11,000 square feet — for $14.5 million in 2003 from then Sony Music honcho Tommy Mottola.

The recently sold house also gained national attention in 2024, at the height of when Combs accusers were coming forward. West Palm Beach man Joseph Manzaro filed a civil lawsuit, claiming he suffered an ordeal while at one of Combs’ now infamous freakoffs in 2015. Manzaro claimed that he was drugged and sexually assaulted at the hip-hopper’s property, then transported via “a secret tunnel” to the smaller, adjacent home, which was still owned by the Estefans at the time.
The Cuban superstar couple fought back, filing a suit of their own stating unequivocally that no tunnel exists and no parties were thrown there during that time. Southern District of Florida Judge Donald M. Middlebrooks agreed and not only threw out the case, but ordered Manzaro’s attorney to pay $7,500 in sanctions and issue a public apology.
Besides his South Florida estate, Combs still retains a plush manse in Los Angeles’ Holmby Hills that was also raided by feds. The native New Yorker listed it for $61.5M in September 2024, right before his arrest. Due to lackluster interest, he took the sprawling crib off the market a few months later.
Combs’ release date has been changed a number of times; it’s currently listed on the Federal Bureau of Prisons website as Feb. 23, 2028. His legal team has said he prefers to return to Star Island, with neighbors who include pals like Rick Ross just down the road.
