What made Perez Hilton move home to Miami? See where he went first
Perez Hilton has an exclusive — about himself.
The 48-year-old celebrity blogger has moved back home to Miami.
Hilton, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., documented his first day back as an official resident Wednesday in an Instagram post. The caption: “Hello 305!”

First stop? Versailles, in Little Havana, naturally. Hilton’s order: a pastelito, Materva yerba mate soda and “the real star of the show,” a medianoche, roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard pressed in between two pieces of sweet egg toast.
“Yummm!” he says at first bite. “I have not had this in years! The bread is iconic. This is probably more Cuban than a Cuban sandwich I would actually say. That hits!”
Hilton was not only thrilled about his meal but for pressing the reset button.
“To new beginnings,” the NYU said, then quoted lyrics from Gloria Estefan’s 1995 song “Abriendo Puertas.”
“Let’s open doors and close wounds in every sense,” he concluded.
So why did Hilton make the life-changing decision to leave Las Vegas after a little over three years? The former Angeleno explained to his “fram” in a YouTube video last week that a higher power had something to do with it.

“The holy spirit made these words come out of my mouth: ‘Let’s move to Miami,’” he recounted.
Beside religious reasons, Hilton said that raising his three children, conceived via surrogacy, in his hometown just felt right. A bunch of relatives live here, and the Belen Jesuit alum still keeps in touch with pals from high school.
A major health scare earlier this year also helped put things in perspective. In March, the so-called Queen of All Media revealed he’d been hospitalized for 21 days battling sepsis that was triggered by a bout with the flu and a perforated stomach ulcer. A blood clot complication followed.
“Nearly dying this year twice … you never think it’s going to happen. It was just so hard,” he told followers. “Thank you God for guiding me back to Florida where my family needs to be.”
