FWC seeking information on woman found dead on Hollywood Beach in early June

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers continue their investigation into the death of a woman whose body was found on Hollywood Beach this month.

Kellie Melinda Williams, 30, was found in the surf by two fishermen around 8 p.m. on June 3 near New Mexico Street, according to the FWC. That’s about three miles from Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park, where investigators say she entered the water to either go snorkeling or diving around 10:30 a.m., said FWC Officer George Reynaud, an agency spokesman.

The FWC said Williams had injuries consistent with being hit by a boat.

Reynaud said Williams was wearing a light blue shirt and black shorts. She had a floating dive flag with her.

Williams was from California and worked as a flight attendant for American Airlines. The FWC says she lived in Hollywood.

The FWC said Tuesday that investigators are asking for information from anyone in the area between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on June 3 and who knows anything about boats operating in the area up to one mile offshore during that time frame that day.

Anyone with that information is asked to call the FWC at 888-404-3922. Tips can be reported anonymously, Reynaud said.
