David Gonzalez III is expected to be released from the Fresno County jail after posting bail of $37,000. The judge allowed him to return to his native Texas to await further court hearings, said his attorney Brian Andritch.
Gonzalez was arrested early Oct. 9 after he was discovered, unconscious, on the front lawn of a home near Dudley Avenue and Broadway Street in the Tower District of Fresno, in California’s Central Valley. The woman who lives in the home notified her 72-year-old father, the homeowner. Her father woke up Gonzalez, who then allegedly attacked the man.
Police said the homeowner’s daughter try to help her father, but Gonzalez allegedly pushed her to the ground. The homeowner, who was armed, shot Gonzalez once before the agent was arrested, police said.
