Police began investigating after the victim’s stepbrother reached out and told them Daniel Edward Niemiec, 20, was harassing his ex after their breakup — and he had previously physically abused her, according to an arrest report.
Niemiec, 20, was handcuffed at his apartment, located at 1677 NW 91st Ave. in Coral Springs, and is facing several domestic violence-related charges.
When detectives spoke to the victim, she divulged details about the tumultuous relationship, which included him slapping her in the face, the report says. The woman also alleged that Niemiec’s violent behavior was escalating.
On June 30, the victim and Niemiec got into an argument that intensified, according to the report. Niemiec, the victim told police, put both his hands around her throat, leaving her unable to breathe.
A day later, after breaking up with Niemiec, the victim went to Niemiec’s apartment with a friend to retrieve her things, according to the report.

Niemiec grabbed her backpack and dumped out the items inside the bag onto the woman’s body, the report says. The contents were covered in feces, urine, hot sauce, ketchup and other fluids.
The victim, police say in the report, was physically shaking as she described the incidents in detail.
After Niemiec was arrested, he told an officer he hit and choked his ex because he has anger issues and “sometimes cannot control it,” according to the report. He also admitted to defecating and urinating in the bag, saying he did so as “payback” because he believed his ex had cheated on him.
Niemiec bailed out of jail on Monday after posting a $4,000 bond. A judge ordered him to have no contact with his ex. No attorney information was available as of early afternoon on Wednesday.
