The Forbes 400, released this week, offers a glimpse into the extraordinary concentration of wealth in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
The region has attracted technology entrepreneurs, hedge fund managers, private equity investors, corporate executives and real estate developers whose fortunes have helped drive demand for waterfront estates, luxury condominiums, private aviation and mega-yacht facilities.
There is a downside: As more billionaires establish homes in the region, their wealth is influencing the housing market, commercial development and demand for high-end services — even as the region continues to grapple with affordability and infrastructure challenges.
The 400 wealthiest Americans are collectively worth a record $8 trillion, up from $6.6 trillion in 2025, according to Forbes.
The minimum fortune required to make the list has climbed to $4.4 billion, $600 million more than last year.
Collectively, the fortunes of the 15 South Florida billionaires on the list represents a whopping $912.6 billion.
Here are 15 of the wealthiest people with homes or significant ties to South Florida who appear on the Forbes 400. Only one woman of the 62 who made the list is from Broward.
Note: Google founders Larry Page, No. 3 on the Forbes list and Sergey Brin, No. 5 on the list, along with Mark Zuckerberg, Meta founder and No. 6 on the list, all own homes in Miami-Dade, but are considered California residents by Forbes.
