Video: Caleb Williams Was Really Emotional Getting Carted To Locker Room
Bears fans went from frustrated to devastated at Soldier Field during today’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. A terrifying-looking injury to a star quarterback would certainly do that to a fanbase.
Midway through the fourth quarter, Bears QB Caleb Williams took a sack on first-and-goal inside the Vikings’ redzone. Unfortunately, he couldn’t get up and video showed him appearing to be in absolute agony.
Williams had to be moved onto a cart driven off the field to the locker room. He was so upset that he kept a towel over his head for most of the ride, looking despondent.
But he did give the Bears one glimmer of hope by removing the towel, smiling and giving a thumbs up right before he was driven into the tunnel.
A Tough Time in Chicago
After scoring 59 points in Week 1, the Bears offense has been anemic against the Vikings in Week 2. They have yet to hold a lead and have just a field goal through three-and-a-half quarters.

Worse still, the stagnant offense didn’t get any better once backup QB Tyson Bagent entered the lineup. He was unable to get the team into the endzone and kicker Cairo Santos’ field goal attempt was blocked.
We might not know until later today or tomorrow what the extent of the damage to Williams’ leg was. Some injuries look awful at first but wind up being far less serious once the scans are done. But we’ve also seen plenty of instances where a player walks off the field of their own power and it winds up being a season-ending disaster.
Let’s hope that Williams’ injury is more like the former and he’s back on his feet soon.
