Tyler Linderbaum Struggles Amplified and More PFF Grades From Raiders’ Loss to Bills

The Raiders spent big money to solidify their center position by signing Tyler Linderbaum to the position’s largest ever contract. But Linderbaum isn’t holding up his end of the bargain with another poor performance, as the Raiders fell to the Bills on Sunday.

Linderbaum wasn’t alone. The Raiders made two changes to their starting lineup and neither choice worked out. Plus the heart of the defense struggled to make an impact.

Here are the notable Pro Football Focus grades for the Raiders in Week 6.

Tyler Linderbaum 46.8

A true disaster for Linderbaum. He should be one of the best players on the offense, but has turned in a few awful performances.

On Sunday Linderbaum made another crucial mistake just before a tush push. The Raiders’ center moved early and was flagged for a false start. It is the third time he has been called for a presnap penalty before the Raiders attempt to run a tush push.

As a pass blocker, Linderbaum allowed two pressures, and he received a 58.6 run blocking grade, as he failed to make a positive impact for his running backs.

With the entire offensive line struggling, the highest-paid center in the NFL needs to be better.

Darien Porter 32.5

Darien Porter was reinserted into the starting lineup on Sunday. He ended up as the worst graded player for the Raiders.

Hezekiah Masses had started Weeks 2-5 at cornerback. But after he had two miserable performances against the Chiefs and Patriots, the coaching staff decided to bench him. Porter, who started in Week 1, returned and flopped.

Porter was targeted five times and allowed three catches for 59 yards. He didn’t have any pass breakups or run stops. He failed to make much of a positive impact.

Caleb Rogers 57.3

The Raiders also made a change in the starting lineup on offense, as Caleb Rogers took over the right guard position from Jackson Powers-Johnson. But Rogers failed to make headway in the ongoing battle.

He allowed two pressures in the game and received the lowest run blocking grade of any Raider offensive lineman.

Las Vegas is still searching for competent offensive line play. Rogers, a second-year player, might get a few more chances to play through his struggles.

A few Raiders had good performances.

The two best grades were from Michael Mayer (89.2) and Tre Tucker (79.3). Both players topped 90 receiving yards on the day, as Tucker hauled in two touchdowns.

Defensively, no Raider received a grade over 70. But Eric Stokes led the way with a 66.8 grade. Stokes hasn’t performed well this season, but he was the best of a bad bunch on Sunday.
