The authority’s board voted July 24 to select Dave J. Kubicek, currently executive vice president of capital construction engineering design at CapMetro, a transit partnership that serves the Austin area. CapMetro is where past Tri-Rail executive director Dave Dech worked before coming to South Florida in 2022. The system is Austin’s regional public transportation provider, offering rail, bus and other ride services in Central Texas since 1985.
