This celebrated Coral Gables steakhouse is opening an upscale rooftop sports bar

There’s a new rooftop spot for steaks, sports and sunsets in Coral Gables — and it sits atop one of South Florida’s most popular restaurants.

On the roof of Daniel’s Miami, which was named one of the best steakhouses in the world by The World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants, Gioia Hospitality is opening the upscale D’s Rooftop in the former space of La Terrazza, once a private club and event space.

You’ll also be able to watch your favorite games on 10 televisions while you order items like wagyu empanadas, the classic chicken nuggets and caviar, a blackened swordfish sandwich or the “Frita Style” Heritage Burger, famous at Daniel’s in Fort Lauderdale, served with Hawthorne Tomme cheese, au poivre aioli, Jimmy Nardello peppers, chimichurri and crispy potatoes on a brioche bun.

D’s Rooftop will also feature special programming throughout the week, including Steak & Cigar Thursdays with a special a la carte menu and a variety of cigars on offer; weekly Thursday Night Football gatherings; and Friday Family BBQ Night, where servers will offer D’s BBQ Platter of Texas Mayura brisket and tritip, Rosewood wagyu jalapeño cheddar sausage, baby back ribs, coleslaw and pickles.

On Saturdays, of course, it’s back to college football action, with the opening night featuring a watch party on Halloween night for the University of Miami Hurricanes against the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Meanwhile, at 6 p.m. on Nov. 18, the Fort Lauderdale Daniel’s will host The Florida Purveyors Dinner, a special culinary experience highlighting the local farms, ranches and producers that contribute to Florida’s vibrant food scene. The dinner will include Swank Farms, Quincy Cattle, Tiny Farms, Harpke Family Farm and Hawthorne Creamerie.

Gioia Hospitality, founded by Thomas Angelo and Kassidy Angelo, opened Daniel’s Miami in the summer of 2025, after the success of Daniel’s in Fort Lauderdale, which opened in 2024. They opened D’s Sports Bar next to the Broward location in 2025.

Gioia is also the force behind the new La Sponda Italian restaurant in Grove Isle, which opened in September. There’s a third Daniel’s location coming to Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood next year.
