Suspect shoots at officers during Miami-Dade pursuit across 2 cities, police say
An investigation is underway in Miami-Dade after investigators said a suspect opened fire at officers during a police pursuit that spanned two cities early Monday morning.

According to Opa-locka police, officers responded to calls for assistance from the Miami Gardens Police Department during a pursuit involving a person connected to a felony investigation.
According to preliminary information, Opa-locka police said that the suspect was “actively discharging a firearm” at pursuing officers while trying to flee from Miami Gardens police.
Opa-locka police said they immediately responded to assist and support Miami Gardens officers.

The police chase ended in the area of Northwest 107th Street and 17th Avenue where the person was taken into custody without further incident.
In addition, police said a second scene connected to the incident was located in the area of Northwest 22nd Avenue and 135th Street, where a Miami Gardens police officer was involved in a crash during the pursuit.

Emergency crews responded to that location to investigate.
