Sex-trafficking suspect told victim he wasn’t a pimp but a ‘life coach’: cops

A man accused of recruiting a woman he was dating for sex work said he didn’t consider himself a pimp but a “life coach” after she confronted him about the other women in his home, police say.

Russell Dominique Brown, 36, was arrested Thursday on a slew of human-trafficking charges. He’s being held without bond at the Metro West Detention Center.

Brown’s arrest came after a 29-year-old woman came forward to Miami Beach police detectives on Sept. 3. The woman told them she met Brown a year ago while working at a strip club in Pompano Beach.

He was throwing a lot of cash at the club, according to Brown’s arrest report. He told her his name was Chase and invited her to hang out with him.

The pair began dating, but the woman later discovered Brown’s real name — and that him vowing to “make your life better” came with strings attached, according to the report.

At one point, the woman went over to his home and noticed he lived with four women, the report states. The residence had a stripper pole.

When the woman asked him questions, Brown said, “These are my b—-es” and that he didn’t “consider myself a pimp, I’m a life coach,” according to the report. Brown then told the woman he could help her start a business, get a new car and pay for shopping trips and cosmetic surgery.

Brown, who went by “Cachi,” bragged that he was a “big deal in Miami,” the report says. The woman said she knew Brown to use several aliases and possess multiple passports.

The woman told investigators Brown had insisted she post ads online, and she ended up traveling all over Miami-Dade and Broward to have sex in exchange for money, according to the report. She said Brown set the prices — and kept tabs on how much she made.

She believes she made $70,000 to $90,000 this year, the report states. Brown gave her a quota of $1,000 a day.

All the women living in the house danced in strip clubs and engaged in sex work and had to leave all their earnings on the counter, the report says. Brown then used the money to pay for room rentals, cars and household expenses.

The victim added that she and the other women have tattoos that say “Cachi 5 Queen,” which represents that they are one of his “girls,” according to the report.

Victim in fear: police

The woman told investigators she was afraid of Brown. He had pushed and shoved her a few times when she didn’t earn how much money he wanted, the reports states. He also threatened to harm the other women — and locked them out when he wasn’t home.

Brown, the woman said, also turned her phone off when he was upset with her. He withheld food, saying she would need to “get a trick to pay for it,” according to the report.

“The victim stated that not only had she become financially dependent on [Brown,] she was afraid of what he would do if she stopped paying him,” the report says.

Brown also brought up another woman who testified in court against him, saying he was behind a car accident that almost killed her, according to the report. Brown, the woman told police, wanted to go to the hospital to “finish her off.”

“You see what I did to that b—-. When you go against me, you see what happens?” the woman recounted Brown saying.

At the time of these incidents, Brown had cut off his ankle monitor in connection to a 2021 human-trafficking case. He pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial on those charges.
