Seahawks vs. Cardinals: Final Score Prediction for Pivotal NFC West Matchup

There are several intriguing matchups in the NFL this weekend. One that seems much more interesting than it did a few weeks ago is the Seahawks vs. Cardinals game.

This matchup didn’t hit many radars before Week 1, but a couple of things have changed that. For one, the Cardinals looked much better than anyone expected in Week 1, knocking off the Los Angeles Chargers in a big upset.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks picked up an impressive win over the New England Patriots, but it came at a cost. Star quarterback Sam Darnold got hurt and will not play in Week 2. The Seahawks also have some big injuries on defense, so this matchup is much more even than many expected it to be.

Seahawks vs. Cardinals: Game Prediction

The Cardinals’ offense looked much better in Week 1 than anybody expected it to. Jacoby Brissett is a reliable veteran passer, Trey McBride is a great tight end, and Michael Wilson and Marvin Harrison Jr. are solid young receivers.

The thing is, this Seahawks’ defense is probably the best in the league, even with Ty Okada and Nick Emmanwori banged up. This unit only allowed the Patriots, who just went to the Super Bowl, to score just 10 points. It’s almost impossible to throw on this secondary, and the front seven gets enough pressure to make the life of quarterbacks very difficult.

On offense, it will be interesting to see if Drew Lock can replicate his Week 1 performance. The quarterback didn’t light it up, per se, but he was efficient and didn’t make any big mistakes. If Lock can manage the game and avoid turnovers, it’s hard to imagine the Cardinals staying in this one.

We also have to look at history. The Seahawks have beaten the Cardinals nine times in a row, and the Cardinals have not beaten the Seahawks in Arizona since 2020.

Ultimately, I think the Seahawks do enough to win this game, but the Cardinals will keep it close in the first half.
