Ravens RB Derrick Henry Reaches Major Milestone Against New Orleans Saints

Derrick Henry and the Baltimore Ravens face the New Orleans Saints for their 2026 home opener after trouncing the Indianapolis Colts 41-23 in Week 1. Newly hired head coach Jesse Minter and offensive coordinator Declan Doyle had the offense humming, with wide receiver Zay Flowers catching five passes for 150 yards and a touchdown before leaving at halftime due to injury.

Star quarterback Lamar Jackson completed 17-of-25 passes for 324 passing yards and one touchdown, along with contributing seven carries for 40 yards and a rushing touchdown. The main rushing attack came from star running back Henry, who carried the ball 24 times for 144 yards and three touchdowns. Henry passed legendary Cleveland Browns running back Jim Brown for the most 100-plus rushing-yard and two-plus rushing-touchdown games, accomplishing the 26th such game in the matchup.

In Week 2, on the second drive against New Orleans, Henry set another record, this time for active NFL players. With 7:17 remaining in the first quarter of a scoreless matchup, Henry caught a short right pass at the Baltimore 39, taking it 20 yards to the New Orleans 41. The yardage brought his career yards from scrimmage to 15,011. The 32-year-old became the first active player to eclipse the 15,000-yard mark from scrimmage.

The three-time NFL rushing touchdowns leader will have to break 15,111 scrimmage yards to pass Pittsburgh Steelers legendary running back Jerome Bettis to enter the top 25 of all-time NFL scrimmage-yard leaders.

The 2020 NFL Offensive Player of the Year gained 22 more scrimmage yards on the drive, including scoring the game’s first touchdown on a one-yard direct-snap score.

Baltimore will head to AT&T Stadium to face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 4:25 p.m. ET for Week 3 of the 2026 NFL regular season.
