Ormond police officer shot at AdventHealth Daytona, officials say

A Ormond Beach police officer was shot at AdventHealth Daytona Beach on Sept. 20, following a series incidents that earlier included the assault of an elderly couple at Daytona College, according to news reports.

The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police sad.

Asked about media reports indicating that an officer was shot, a police spokeswoman did not provide details, but said a press conference will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 21 at police headquarters.
