Orange Blossom Classic, Urban Golf Weekend make for packed Labor Day

The Orange Blossom Classic’s history goes back to 1933. Dorothy Jenkins Fields, a Miami historian and preservationist being honored by the organization, recalled the scenes from many OBCs in her lifetime.

Fields attended her first OBC as a young child, but what stayed with her was the excitement people had for the game and the marching bands. She likened it to getting ready for Easter.

It’s that joy that OBC Executive Director Kendra Bulluck said is part of the reason she resurrected the festival six years ago.
