What it means

As the only undefeated team in the league, Miami right now remains the top team in the conference and has the inside track to make the ACC Championship Game in Charlotte on Dec. 5.

After that is a two-way race between one-loss teams in Wake Forest and SMU, who just so happen to play each other on Nov. 14. Barring no upsets over the next two weeks (which is far from a given), the winner of that game very well could decide who goes to Charlotte.

A logjam of six teams already with two losses in league play follow below those three providing for a chance for chaos should the top three teams falter.
