Manhunt after a fatal Miramar gas-station stabbing ends in an arrest, police say

Three days after a man was stabbed to death at a Miramar gas station, police say they caught the man who did it.

On Wednesday night, 51-year-old Teofilo De Jesus Vargas Paulino died in a hospital after he was stabbed at a Mobil gas station on the 16000 block of Miramar Parkway at around 9:45 p.m.

Police say the attacker ran away, prompting a manhunt by police. On Friday, police released a photo of Jerry Saint Vil, 26, announcing he was wanted for murder and urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the Miramar Police Department.

On Saturday morning, police announced that Saint Vil had been arrested.

“Following an extensive search in the area of the 2100 block of Acapulco Drive, Saint Vil was located and taken into custody without incident,” spokesperson Janice McIntosh wrote in a statement.

Saint Vil was taken to the Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail, where he will be charged with first-degree premeditated murder, according to McIntosh.
