LeBron James Diagnosed With ‘Chronic’ Arthritis at 41

LeBron James is gearing up for the final stint of his NBA career.

The four-time NBA champion shocked the sports world when he signed with the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason. James is teaming up with Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown and Tyrese Maxey in Philadelphia. The 76ers will look to get over the hump and win a championship.

“I didn’t leave my family to lose in the second round,” LeBron said at his introductory press conference at media day.

“I learned that everybody’s on the same page with the direction the organization wants to be in, players want to be in, coaches want to be in. We all want to put the work in, and that’s most important.”

As LeBron James gears up for the final stint of his NBA career, he’s doing it with a painful chronic condition.

The four-time NBA champion has been diagnosed with “chronic” arthritis in his left foot, while also dealing with pain in his lower back.

LeBron James has to show up to the Philadelphia facility pretty early in the morning to get his body right.

“James’ daily routine begins at the Sixers’ training complex around 7:45 a.m., when he is met by his longtime athletic trainer, Mike Mancias, to work on his body. There is stretching, activation and modalities to check off as he embarks on an unprecedented 24th NBA season, breaking his NBA record for player longevity with every game he plays,” ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported.

“And there is special attention paid to his left foot, which has chronic arthritis, sources told ESPN, and his lower back, which caused him to miss the first month of last season because of sciatica.”

LeBron has been one of the most consistent athletes of all-time, thanks in part to how he treats his body, and it sounds like things will be no different heading into the 2026-27 season.
