Tucker fouled a ball off his right knee and shin area in the fifth inning. He stayed in the game long enough to score a run but was replaced by Alex Call in the seventh as a precaution.

Tucker told reporters afterward that he believes he is fine and noted that the ball struck a higher part of his leg than the spot where he fractured his right shin in 2024.

Kyle Tucker said he’s thinks he’s fine after fouling a ball off his right knee/shin area, FWIW. Hit a higher spot up on his leg than he did when he fractured that right shin in 2024.

The previous injury made Saturday’s situation worth monitoring, but Tucker’s initial update provided some relief for the Dodgers. There was no indication from the postgame update that he had suffered another significant injury.

Tucker finished 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored before leaving the game. Los Angeles went on to beat San Francisco 10-4 at Dodger Stadium, collecting 15 hits in the win.

The outfielder has played in 147 games this season and entered Sunday batting .235/.334/.394 with 17 home runs, 70 RBI, 88 runs and 11 stolen bases.

Tucker has also been swinging the bat well recently. He entered the game hitting .438 with five home runs and 11 RBI over his previous nine games.

His previous right shin fracture occurred in June 2024 while he was with the Houston Astros. That injury kept him out for roughly three months, making the location of Saturday’s foul ball an obvious concern.

For now, Tucker is considered day-to-day. The Dodgers will have another opportunity to evaluate him before Sunday’s series finale against the Giants.

Los Angeles has already secured the National League West, so the priority with Tucker is making sure the latest scare does not develop into another significant issue before the postseason.
