Kenneth Walker III Announces Unfortunate NFL Decision After One Chiefs Game
Kenneth Walker III led the Kansas City Chiefs to a Week 1 win in his debut with the team, jumping to 1-0 on the 2026 NFL season after defeating Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos 31-10 on “Monday Night Football.” Now, the Chiefs will turn their attention to Week 2’s edition of “Sunday Night Football,” hosting Daniel Jones and the Indianapolis Colts.
Fresh off winning Super Bowl MVP with the Seattle Seahawks, Walker couldn’t have asked for a better start to his tenure in Kansas City. The former Michigan State and Wake Forest running back finished Week 1 with 23 carries for 173 yards and a touchdown, adding three catches for another 18 yards and one score through the air.
Walker scored his first touchdown as a Chief with 12:43 remaining in the third quarter, running it 60 yards into the end zone on a 4th-and-1 play. And his second touchdown came early in the fourth on a two-yard pass by Patrick Mahomes.
After his second and final touchdown of the night, Walker celebrated by throwing the ball into the crowd at Arrowhead Stadium. And the running back revealed on social media that giving the ball to a fan cost him an $8,000 fine from the NFL.

In the NFL, players can be fined up to $8,357 for throwing the ball into the stands for the first time, which can increase to $14,328 upon a second violation. Still, Walker gave a memory to a member of Chiefs Kingdom that he called “priceless.” Included in the post was a photo of the lucky fan with the ball Walker threw.
“Shout out to unc😂,” Walker wrote on TikTok. “After I scored the other night, I threw the ball into the crowd. It cost me an $8k fine… But this fan’s memory was priceless.”

Walker has only been fined one other time in his career, receiving a $11,593 charge last year with the Seahawks after taunting against the Arizona Cardinals.
