‘I’m going to kill you.’ Broward deputy jailed for strangling fiancée: cops

A Broward County Sheriff’s deputy is behind bars after he attacked his fiancée — sending her rolling down a flight of stairs and repeatedly punching and strangling her, according to the Miramar Police Department.

Deputy Isaiah Williams is charged with domestic battery by strangulation, battery causing bodily harm, tampering or fabricating evidence and robbery sudden snatching.

At around 2:05 a.m. on Monday, Williams’ fiancée was dropped off at their home by a friend, according to his arrest affidavit. When she opened the door, she saw her clothes and belongings on the floor.

“B—-, you think I’m stupid, hoe, you think I’m dumb?,” police say Williams told her when she asked him what was wrong.

The woman asked what he was talking about when he “jabbed” her in the face with a fist as she was standing midway up a flight of stairs. She fell down the steps and landed on the first floor, according to police.

Before she could even get up, police say, Williams was on top of her and punched her in the face. When she turned her head to protect her face, he hit the back of her head and pulled her hair.

Williams then wrapped his hand under her neck and squeezed, lifting her off the ground by her neck. She told police he choked her for 20-25 seconds and she started seeing block spots.

Fearing she was going to die, she grabbed Williams’ genitals and squeezed, police say. Williams screamed and threw the woman, who then ran into the garage.

As she ran, Williams said, “b—- I’m going to kill you,” as he jumped on top of her, according to his arrest affidavit. She collapsed under his weight and then reached into her purse for her gun, but Williams also reached for the bag.

The woman said she had one hand on the firearm while Williams’ hand was on top of hers. Fearing for her life, she tried to point the firearm at him but could not, police say.

She waited until the gun was pointed away from both of them, then fired one shot and screamed for help so her neighbors could hear her.

During the struggle, Williams overpowered her and took the gun from her. The woman ran and hid behind her car, which was parked in the garage.

She heard Williams go inside their home and lock the door. She then ran out of the garage, went around the apartment building, and called 911. She waited in front of a neighbor’s home until help arrived.

She later searched the home with officers but could not find the firearm that the defendant had taken from her during the struggle.

The woman also said Williams departed with six other handguns that belonged to him.

Police say the attack left the woman with a laceration on her lip, a contusion around her nose and an abrasion on her neck.

On Monday, right before 1 p.m., Williams arrived to the BSO Public Safety Complex and was taken into custody by BSO.

Williams has been placed on administrative investigative leave without pay, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office. He is locked up at the Broward County Main Jail as of Tuesday afternoon on a $47,500 bond.
