This week is shaping up to give us a break from the summerlike sweat. After high temperatures on Monday top out in the mid-80s with less humidity, low temperatures overnight and early morning Tuesday will dip into the low-70s.
“It will feel oh so nice — and a little bit like fall, at least South Florida-style,” said Lissette Gonzalez, a meteorologist with Miami Herald news parter CBS News Miami. “We are on the right track with temperatures starting to come down and not feeling as oppressive.”
The pleasant drop, although not quite sweater weather, does come with some risks on the water with wind and rough conditions on the beach. Gusts could reach 20 to 30 mph.
“It’s best to avoid going into the water or to boat,” Gonzalez said. “We have hazardous marine conditions.”
The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a riptide advisory for Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties until 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22.
