Florida election 2026 candidates for Congress, U.S. House District 21

Three candidates will face off in the Nov. 3 election for U.S. House of Representatives District 21 in Martin and St. Lucie counties, as well as the northeastern part of Palm Beach County.

This will be the first general election since Florida’s Republican-led Legislature redrew congressional maps this year to give the GOP a four-seat advantage.

District 21 remains largely the same, except for a shift in its Palm Beach County boundaries to include more undeveloped land west of Florida’s Turnpike and less of the eastern suburbs, such as Century Village and Cypress Lakes.

U.S. Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fort Pierce, is in his fifth term after first being elected to Congress in 2016. He had no opponent in the Aug. 18 Republican primary election.

James Martin won his Aug. 18 Democratic primary against Bernard Taylor.

Alexander Cooke is running as an independent.
