Ferrari Built Just One Matte Enzo, and Now It’s for Sale

Rarer Than Rare

The Ferrari Enzo is considered one of the most influential supercars ever made. It was part of the first few models that ushered in the new era of post-90s high performance. Apart from the fact that it represented the very best of early 00s technology and performance, it also celebrated Ferrari’s 60th anniversary and carried the name of the brand’s founder.

Needless to say, any Ferrari Enzo carries a high price tag and collector status, but one such model is a cut above the rest, is spec’d in a one-of-one colorway, and was part of a very infamous car collection.

Matte Nero Opaco Enzo

Now listed on RM Sotheby’s is a 2004 Ferrari Enzo finished in Matte Nero Opaco. This is the only Enzo that was ordered in matte paint directly from the factory, and it’s only fitting that it was originally commissioned by a member of the Brunei Royal Family whose car collection is littered with special one-offs.

The interior was also set to match the exterior, which is why the inside was done in Nero leather and Rosso gauges. This particularly rare Enzo was meant to be kept in the Royal Family’s residence in London, where it was spotted occasionally on the streets of Hampstead, Mayfair, and Knightsbridge before it was then shipped to the Asia-Pacific region.

In 2022, it was returned to Europe and sent to Carrozzeria Zanasi, a facility where Ferrari Hypercars and special-edition models are reworked. The work done on the Enzo cost $127,000 and basically replaced anything that needed attention.

International Ownership

It has then been shipped to Canada, where it has remained well-preserved ever since. It currently has only 3,567 miles since new. Servicing this Enzo was done by both Ron Tonkin Gran Turismo and Ferrari of Vancouver. The most recent major part replacements were done in 2024, which were the clutch, both fuel pumps, and the left-side valve cover gasket.

Ferrari Enzo costs between $7.7 million and $13 million, depending on spec and condition. This 2004 model’s price isn’t listed, but we can assume that because of its rarity and storied ownership, it could be on the higher side of the price bracket.
