Deputies investigate shooting in Southwest Miami-Dade

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting Thursday in Southwest Miami-Dade.

Details remain scant, but emergency dispatch indicates at least two people may have been shot near the 15400 block of Southwest 148th Street.

There are at least six Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units on scene, according to their active calls’ website. Various police units and crime scene investigators were on the scene as sections of the neighborhood remained closed during the ongoing investigation.

Debbie Sullivan was taking an afternoon walk down SW 154th Court around 12:30 pm. Since moving to Victoria Parc in 1998, Sullivan, 70, said the neighborhood has always been quiet and safe.

“This is very unusual,” Sullivan said. “Especially something to this extreme.”
