‘Critical incident’ ends in at least one person cuffed as cops clear area: reports

A SWAT team and a mass of police officers swarmed a Broward apartment complex investigating a “critical incident” on Thursday evening, authorities say.

Around 5 p.m., Wilton Manors police alerted its community on social media that they were conducting the investigation at Manor Grove Apartments, in the 1900 block of North Andrews Avenue.

Authorities had asked residents to “shelter in place.” Officers at the scene said they were attempting to arrest a suspect in a “violent crime case.”

About two hours later, a person was said to be arrested or detained by Wilton Manors and Fort Lauderdale police, WSVN 7 News reported.

Authorities have since left the apartment complex.
