Cowboys, Ravens Concerned About Week 3 Game In Brazil
One of the marquee NFL games in Week 3 will be a clash between the Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens in Brazil’s famed Maracaña Stadium, home to some of the biggest soccer teams in South America. But with the game just eight days away, concerns are brewing over the field conditions.

In some recent interviews, members of the CR Flamengo soccer team have started complaining about the field quality. Goalkeeper Agustin Rossi noticed “bumps everywhere” on the field, while midfielder Giorgian De Arraascaeta said that the field makes it hard to simply control the ball during play.
“You don’t even need to talk about the field, it’s there for everyone to see,” Rossi said, via AtoZSports. “The way we play, it’s unbelievable that we’re playing on a field like this. Both penalty areas are bad as [expletive]. If you look at it, there are bumps everywhere. There’s still going to be an NFL game here during the international break. After that game, I hope the field is in better shape.”
“We’ve been struggling a lot in these last few games, and the field keeps getting worse,” De Arrascaeta said. “It’s getting harder and harder to control the ball. We have to try to play quickly. If we want to be champions, we have to find a solution. With the team we have, we can’t be playing on a field like this.”
Fans are not looking forward to this one.
This is far from the first time that there have been complaints about field conditions ahead of an international game. Many fans warned that if stars of the Cowboys or Ravens get hurt, there will be hell to pay. Others just said that they can’t stand the international games in general.
“Stop playing international games. NFL is nothing but a bunch of greedy bastards,” one user remarked.

“NFL needs to stop with these international games. Australia and Brazil is too far and unpredictable. Honestly only acceptable games should be in Europe. Even then the amount of games should be limited,” wrote another.
“Hope its better than Brazils a couple years ago when Love got hurt and guys were playing on skates,” a third said.
“Just forfeit the game honestly. If the Ravens lose anybody to a season ending injury because of a bad field, I’m going to lose my mind. International games suck.”
Fans have some pretty vivid bad memories about the 2024 game where Green Bay Packers star QB Jordan Love suffered a lower injury. Fortunately, it wasn’t too serious and he only missed a couple of games, but fans don’t want to see a star get injured on foreign soil.
Why it matters whether the injury occurs on foreign soil versus American soil is anyone’s guess, but people just don’t want to have to see games outside of the United States.
