Caleb Williams Leaves Game In Extreme Pain Following Leg Injury

Caleb Williams went down with a non-contact injury in the second half of Sunday afternoon’s Chicago Bears vs. Minnesota Vikings game.

The third-year NFL quarterback was scrambling toward the left, inside of the red zone, when he went down with an apparent non-contact leg injury. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of USC and Oklahoma was down on the ground in serious pain. You could see Williams’ grimacing and expressing serious discomfort.

Williams was down on the ground for a while, before ultimately being carted off of the field and into the locker room. NFL fans hate to see it. The replay of Williams’ injury is pretty hard to watch, too.

Anytime a player goes down non-contact, especially a quarterback, is concerning. The Bears have to be holding their breath and hoping for the best, considering their season could ride on the health of their star quarterback.

Williams was heard shrieking in pain on Sunday, which is likely not the greatest of signs for his health moving forward.

NFL doctor estimates the injury to Williams

A former NFL team doctor believes that Williams likely suffered a hamstring injury on Sunday afternoon.

“By video, apparent right hamstring strain. Carted to locker room. Hazard of wet weather and early season,” David J. Chao wrote.

The Bears have yet to release an official injury update for their star quarterback, during the Week 2 game against the NFC North rival Minnesota Vikings.
