AP Top 25 Week 3: The SEC Owns the Latest Rankings. Who’s New?
The SEC had a great start to the college football season, and it shows in the latest AP Top 25 rankings with a whopping ten teams in.
Florida enters the fun at 21 after its win over Auburn, and Mississippi State is in at 23 after its blast of a victory over South Carolina. Even more impressively, with Ole Miss moving up to the 4 spot following its win over LSU, the SEC has three of the top four spots.

AP Top 25 Week 4 Quick Hits
- The AP voters totally whiffed on Kentucky. Texas A&M is 23rd, but Kentucky – who just dominated the Aggies in College Station – is 27th.
- Oklahoma fell out of the top 25 after struggling with a tough New Mexico team in a win, but Houston, SMU, and again, Texas A&M, are in.
- The AP continues to be horribly wrong on Oregon. The Ducks might have won 84-0 against Portland State, but they did lose to Oklahoma State (30), and 3-0 Tulsa, who beat Oklahoma State, is 35.
